Dear NCSY GIVE West Family,
It’s hard to believe we are approaching our LAST Shabbos together on NCSY GIVE WEST! It has been a jam-packed week as we traveled from Los Angeles, through Fresno, Yosemite, San Francisco, San Jose, Fairfield, Redding, and will arrive later today in Portland, OR! We have filled our days with amazing chesed activities, inspiring chabburot, and really fun sightseeing activities. The long bus rides were filled with meaningful activities, yummy snacks, and lots of rest stops. The fun continues this week in Portland and Seattle; meeting new people, exploring new cities, engaging in new chesed projects, and concluding the week with a Banquet dinner and closing celebration.
We fly home Thursday morning, July 18th - I will be remaining in Seattle ensuring everyone gets to their gates and takes off safely. The Group Flight is American Airlines #1540: Departing at 6:04am with a stop-over in Chicago. Our connecting flight is American Airlines #2302, departing at 1:30pm, and is expected to land in Laguardia Airport (LGA) around 4:40pm. Our theme for this Shabbos is man’s relationship with him/herself, Bein Adam L’Atzmo. We will be learning, discussing, and exploring different aspects of what it means to know yourself, prioritize your life, and how to make good decisions. We will focus on one’s identity, what makes our souls spark, how to stay inspired once the summer is over, and the importance of seeking advice in future life decisions. I can’t wait to continue our learning, connections, and growth, even once the flights depart on Thursday morning.
I want to say THANK YOU to all of you for entrusting us with your daughters this summer. They have been a pleasure to travel with, GIVE back with, learn with, and have fun with. We hope they return to you in high spirits and with much gratitude. A big thank you to our incredible Summer 2019 Staff: Rebecca Lipsky (Assistant Director), Jennifer Silverman (Logistics), and to our fantastic advisors Shana Friedman, Zahava Isaacs, Sheva Kent, Esther Lamm, and Avital Weitzner.
